The Gisborne/Tairawhiti Sunset Series is a laid back hands on event that is designed to encourage club members to put their training to the test in a series of short course racing. This racing series is targeted at Junior Surf athletes progression to Oceans 2018.

Wainui is Gisborne’s oldest dedicated surf lifesaving club, formed in 1937. The clean, glistening water and white sand of Wainui Beach have always been considered a huge drawcard for swimmers and surfers alike. But its Pacific Ocean frontage and, at times, unforgiving seas ensure preserving and safeguarding lives is an ongoing responsibility. The club evolved to provide a community service, sporting opportunities and a way of life that blended a healthy, outdoors lifestyle with camaraderie and solid family values.Come and check out all the action at one of NZ's iconic holiday beaches.
